White Board: Stinky

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Back in our old office we began collecting white boards. We started out with small personal ones by each desk to jot down notes and to-do lists. Then they kept coming, and they kept getting bigger. We got one to track our calendar, and then another to track our projects, and then we got bigger ones for each of those tasks. So now that we’ve moved into our new space I thought I’d take it to the next level.

There’s a large wall-sized pane of glass behind my desk. It’s just begging to be drawn on. Inspired by Coudal Partner’s bathroom I went to the hardware store to pick up some chalkboard paint. There next to it was dry-erase whiteboard paint. I had no idea this wonderful product existed. I wanted to draw on the walls, but I was a little concerned about how much chalk dust there might be. It was really simple to mix and paint, and after two days of curing I now have a 7′x5′ scribble board.

It’s going to be a place where we can put up doodles, jokes, and dirty caricatures. We’ll also use it for planning and meetings from time-to-time, but I want to always remember to erase that stuff and start doodling again. I’ll post my favorites here, starting with:

Last April Megan and I took a trip to London and Paris and came back with over 1500 photos. I’m still swimming thru them and they’ll make it to flickr soon, but here’s a few for now.
