Canary Promotion Newsletter: Spring 2011
from Founder & President, Megan Wendell
I don’t know about you, but I always get the urge to take up some sort of improvement or organizational project when the Spring weather hits. There’s something about coming out of winter hibernation that kicks me into gear. This year, the Canary team spent some time sprucing up the office, which got a pretty major reorganizing, new paint and, inspired by our company name, some new birds on things. (When the name of your company is Canary Promotion, somehow, bird items just find their way to you.)

You can see more of the Canary office here.

New Clients
We’re thrilled to welcome our newest clients to the Canary roster:
We’ve been big fans of Theatre Exile for years, so we jumped at the chance to work with the company on their upcoming production of Noah Haidle’s Saturn Returns, directed by Brenna Geffers. The show runs April 28 – May 22 and features a cast of all-star Exile veterans: Harry Philibosian, Joe Canuso, David Raphealy, and Amanda Schoonover. [Info]
Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill recently opened five new exhibitions, along with expanded museum hours. Their extraordinary exhibitions on Charles Demuth, Violet Oakley, Pennsylvania Impressionism and Landscape, and selections from the Charles Knox Smith Collection run through June 26. [Info]
We just wrapped up a campaign for two special series presented by Ars Nova Workshop, Philadelphia’s leading jazz and experimental music presenting organization. ANW brought to Philadelphia Fieldwork and Instant Composers Pool Orchestra, for weekend concert series that gave an in-depth look at the work of two important groups of composers and musicians representing both today’s most pioneering new music and decades of influence in the creative music scene. We’re delving into the online art experience with an in-the-works project from Philadelphia’s acclaimed experimental theater company New Paradise Laboratories, as they explore how performance on the web and in real space can intersect. Stay tuned for details. [Info]
