PR & Marketing Coordinator
We’re seeking a smart, detail-oriented lover of arts and culture to join our team. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to work in a fun but hardworking office, serving some of the area’s leading cultural and nonprofit organizations. Canary Promotion, a small but rapidly growing communications firm, is committed to working with arts, culture, entertainment and mission-driven clients. We offer publicity, marketing, community engagement and communications consulting services.
What we’re looking for:
We want to hear from you if the idea of working with a mission-driven and highly collaborative team, developing personalized and creative media campaigns, and diving into multiple projects for clients who are making a difference excites you. We’re looking for professionals who bring creativity and true enthusiasm to our dedicated team. You should be able to work collaboratively as well as independently. This is a support position with room for growth.
Position requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at multi-tasking
- Internet and computer savvy with social media experience
- A knowledge of and enthusiasm for the Philadelphia area’s cultural community
- A knowledge of the area’s media outlets (strongly desired)
- 2+ years of experience working in communications (strongly desired)
- Must be available to work in our office, located just outside Philadelphia, half a block from a regional rail line; free parking available.
Job responsibilities include:
- Supporting the PR team by assisting with strategy and implementation of campaigns
- Writing press releases, crafting story pitches and working with members of the press
- Copywriting for marketing, ad and web content
- Developing and implementing social media strategies, including content, advertising, results tracking and offering guidance to clients
- Implementing community outreach efforts
- Direct communication with and reporting to clients
- General project research
