Canary Promotion + Design is committed to working with arts, culture, entertainment and mission-driven clients. Established in 2001, Canary Promotion + Design was founded and is run by people who are truly invested in the cultural, creative and nonprofit communities. Co-founders Mason Wendell and Megan Wendell bring to each project over 12 years of experience working in various fields of the arts & culture, entertainment and technology industries.
As a rapidly growing company, we seek out PR, marketing, design and web development professionals who bring creativity, experience and true enthusiasm to our small but dedicated team. We believe in building strong relationships and long-term partnerships with our clients, and our personal and passionate approach to everything we do results in clients and staff who have continued to work with Canary year after year.
Canary was founded by husband and wife team Mason Wendell (Principal Designer & Developer) and Megan Wendell (Publicity & Marketing Director / Business Development Director) who wanted to create an artist-focused business that would draw from their own artistic backgrounds as musicians who graduated from Berklee College of Music, launched several successful tours, nationally released and promoted albums for their own bands, and founded a small record label.
Today, our clients include museums and art institutions (Rosenbach Museum & Library, The Design Center at Philadelphia University), major arts festivals (Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe, Philagrafika 2010, First Person Festival), education and advocacy organizations (Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Future of Music Coalition), theater and dance companies (The Wilma Theater, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Nichole Canuso Dance Company), music venues and presenters (Johnny Brenda’s, R5 Productions, Ars Nova Workshop), authors and literary publications (Neil Baldwin, American Poetry Review), a national television show (The Colbert Report) and various other nonprofit organizations and businesses.
