Megan has been championing arts, culture and nonprofit organizations for over a decade. She co-founded Canary Promotion with her husband Mason Wendell in 2001, and has led communications campaigns for dozens of cultural institutions, nonprofit organizations, artists and mission-driven businesses in performing arts, visual art, design, higher education, heritage and history. She has worked on numerous projects funded by such granting organizations as The National Endowment for the Arts, The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, The William Penn Foundation, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Philadelphia Cultural Fund.
Megan is invited regularly to speak to cultural and nonprofit groups, artists and college classes. She is a member of the Philadelphia Public Relations Association, has served on the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Advisory Panel and has participated in several professional development programs, including courses at the Wharton Small Business Development Center and the Forum of Executive Women mentoring circle.
Megan regularly draws from her own artistic background as a musician who graduated from Berklee College of Music, launched several successful tours, nationally released and promoted albums and founded an independent record label. She loves that her job gives her an opportunity to fully immerse herself in Philadelphia’s amazing cultural community, at least when she’s not chasing after her pre-schooler, Lyra.
